Lip filler (certainly the ones that we use) are Hyaluronic Acid based material with added Lidocaine (for extra numbing). Hylauronic Acid (HA) is a natural occurring sugar within the body. It is responsible for plumping the skin therefore it is almost impossible to be allergic to it. We like to offer premium fillers in clinic which have undergone extensive clinical research.
What happens during the treatment?
Treatment time varies depending upon what you would like to achieve however you can typically expect the injection time to be approx 10 minutes. The rest of the appointment allows me to calm your nerves, answer questions, put you at ease and more importantly allow your lips to become as numb as possible!
I’ve used another clinic in the past, can i have them filled with you?
As long as you were injected by a professional who used approved products you can have your lips filled with another HA product at Beauty Clinic by Giers however you must wait at least 3 months before injecting again or swapping brands.
What if i do not like the results?
All of the hyaluronic acid based fillers we use are FULLY REVERSIBLE from the time they are administered, until the time they are reabsorbed. So even in the unlikely event, you didn’t like the results, we can reverse them in seconds.
What are the side effects/risks?
All cosmetic procedures carry risks and side effects. Common temporary side effects, usually lasting up to 7 days maximum, following your treatment:
- Tenderness at the injection site
- Swelling at the injection site
- Bruising
Less frequent side effects are:
- Severe swelling
- Lumping and product migration
- Infection
- Allergic reaction
- Vascular Occlusion – blocking blood to a vessel and possibly leading to tissue necrosis.
